Children’s Choir Rehearsals Begin

Rehearsals for the 2016-2017 school year begin September 27th for children grades 1-8. All are welcome to join! Choir will practice Tuesday Evenings from 5:45pm-6:30pm in the church. Please contact Rachel Porter for more information at rachelporter7409@gmail.com or 319-491-2303.

Oktoberfest!

Please join us for the annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 1st, hosted by the Knights of Columbus in collaboration with St. Philomena School. The evening begins with Mass at 5:30 PM. Music at this special Mass will be provided by the Andy Mirkovich Polka Band. The Oktoberfest dinner starts after Mass at 6:30 PM in the parish hall. Dinner includes brats, potatoes, sauerkraut and other German delicacies. The Andy Mirkovich Polka Band will be performing at the dinner from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Tickets are $35.00 a couple, $20.00 per person and $15.00 for seniors. Beer and wine will also be available. All proceeds benefit the St. Philomena Knights of Columbus.

Gethsemene Catholic Cemetery Open House

You are invited to an Open House on Sunday, October 2nd, from 12pm - 4pm at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Federal Way and at St. Patrick Cemetery in Kent. Tour your local Archdiocesan Catholic Cemeteries. Look for your ancestor’s graves. Pray for a loved one, and take home a Catholic Personal Planning Guide and “A Guide for Making Good Decisions for the End of Life” (includes a Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care). Staff will be on hand to answer questions, provide a sign-up sheet for our quarterly newsletter, and provide refreshments. Concert!

Scott Montgomery, award winning concert organist and recording artist, is coming to St. Philomena’s. Scott will be giving a concert on our acclaimed Burton Tidwell/Allen organ on Friday November 11, 2016 at 7:00pm. The concert is free, with a free-will offering taken to support our parish music and liturgical programs. Tell your friends!!
