A Note From Our Parochial Vicar: October 25, 2026
Next weekend we will have the opportunity to celebrate All Saints Day. This is a special day where we not only recall our models of faith, but that are reminded that we are saints in the making. I once heard someone say “The lives of the Saints are the Gospel put into practice.” If this is true, then studying their lives helps us in our walk with the Lord.
Below I have a several quotes to reflect upon in your call to be a great saint. May we all learn from the wisdom of our brothers and sisters who have gone before!
St. Augustine:
“There is no saint without a past, no sinner without a future.”
St. Therese of Lisieux:
“Sanctity does not mean this or that practice, it consists in a disposition of the heart which makes us humble and little in God’s arms, aware of our weakness and confident even to the audacity in the goodness of our Father.”
”Divine Justice which frightens so many souls is for me a source of joy and confidence. To be just means…taking account of right intentions and wishes to reward virtue. I expect as much from justice of our good Lord and from His mercy.”
“Justice itself even more than any other divine perfection, seems to me to be clothed in love.”
“Little things done out of love, are those that charm the Heart of Christ…but the most brilliant when done without love are but nothing.”
“The least act of pure love is of more value to the church than all other works put together.”
St. Francis De Sales:
“He (God) would prefer us not to be so anxious, even to do good…do not examine your good and its progress so closely. You should not wish to be so perfect but with good faith pass your life in those exercises that await you.”
“It is not those who commit the least number of faults who are the most holy, but those who have the greatest courage, the greatest generosity, the greatest love, who make the boldest efforts to overcome themselves, and are not immoderately apprehensive of tripping or even falling and being dirtied a little, provided they advance.”
God bless,
Fr Ben
