A Note From Our Pastor: October 4, 2026
In this note, I want to make sure you’re aware of a new form of communication to you that we began a few weeks ago: our e-newsletter. It will be sent to your email address each Monday morning.
Why do this? More and more, people prefer electronic forms of communication, rather than the printed bulletin. For many, the fact that it arrives in their email inbox and can be viewed on their phone, tablet or computer, works better for them. It’s intended to be a brief ‘look ahead’ at what’s on the horizon for us.
If you do not see it in your email inbox, it’s likely due to one of two reasons: First, it may be in your “junk” or “spam” folder. Sometimes when email communications are sent to a large number of recipients, the recipient’s computer program precautionarily thinks it’s “junk” or “spam”. Check those folders in your email program to see if the email from “Seatac Catholic” is there. A second reason would be that we do not have an accurate or updated email on file for you. If you are a registered parishioner, you can send your email address to our Communications Specialist, Recy (Recy.tunay@seataccatholicparishes.org), with the indication that you wish to receive the e-newsletter.
A second form of communication that I want to mention to you is through our parish app. For the time being, the parish app(s) remain separated: either St. Thomas’ app or St. Philomena’s app. There are very beneficial functions within the app that we intend to utilize eventually. For example, we can set up groups, wherein those who are part of the group can communicate without having to share their personal contact info. It can function like Flock-Note, if you are familiar with that.
Otherwise, the app includes much of the same content that can be accessed and viewed through our website. But there’s another function to the parish app that makes it worth downloading, and that is the “push notifications”. With push notifications, we can send helpful messages to you such as reminders of upcoming events or alerts (such as a church closure, or event cancellation, etc.).
Here’s how to download the app (on your phone or tablet): Scan one of the QR codes shown below, then download the Our Catholic Community app (the logo is shown here, next to the QR codes).

When asked for a code, input either “sttukwila” (St. Thomas) or “STPHIL” (St. Philomena). Then, in your phone settings, under “notifications” turn on notifications for “Our Catholic Community”. Then, you’re all set!
Yours in Christ,
Father Todd O. Strange
